Oy Light is presenting its first collection of luminaires in the "il Castello" art gallery in Milan during the month of April 2005.

Established by Carlo Forcolini (President) and Nedo Giusti (Managing Director), the new company is the offspring of a shared enthusiasm and many years of experience accumulated in all aspects of lighting.
But it is also the offspring of its founders' common conviction that the vast majority of what can be found on the market today, anonymous as ever, tends to squeeze out those products that feature a strong character and a narrative quality of their own.

That is why today's market ideology tends to generate no more than average products, often with no particular aesthetic or technological properties, but just "good enough". All very well as an idea for large and mass distribution concerns, but in our opinion hardly the approach for firms on the cutting edge of aesthetic and functional innovation. The idea of a world crammed with pointless and ultimately rather meaningless throwaway objects sits rather uncomfortably with the ideal of the human home, which, on the contrary, is the one place in our lives where things of symbolic meaning to us as individuals should reign supreme.
