Concept
Kha is the first of the exciting trio of dining venues to open at Martin No. 38, a location that has been revamped in the recent years to emerge as one of the hot spots in Singapore. Armed with an array of charming boutiques and cafes, Martin No. 38 was inspired by the industrial warehouse lofts in New York and London.
Indulge in modern interpretations of uniquely-presented classic Thai cuisine within chic, sensuous and slightly theatrical surroundings. Diners can also enjoy sensational cocktails and a dynamic wine list to accommpany the meal.
A second Graze (the first one being at Rochester Park) and a unique gourmet food retail store Provisions opened in end March 2011.
Design Overview
Using a palette of natural materials such as antique bronze, charcoal and wooden floors, Kha brings an intimate and sensuous feel, resulting in an authenticity that resonates. Wanting to reflect the feel of a traditional Thai house without being too literal, Hecker Guthrie custom- produced a unique ‘joinery’ wall with a display of found objects and ceramics, giving a wonderfully comfortable living room feel to the venue. A dark palette was chosen, with special lighting to create a sense of ‘theatre’ in which to present Kha’s outstanding cuisine - Kha’s new interiors cleverly feature Thai elements updated with a modern perspective.
