The Chateau Le Marteret is an idyllic country estate located an hour northwest of Toulouse in the Gers region in the foothills of the Pyrenees on a 180-hectare estate with historic buildings, gardens, vineyard, fruitree plantation, meadows, fields, woods and a lake inviting for swimming and fishing. The historic buildings - manor house, farmstead, stables and dovecote where constructed around 1840. For real are the numbers 1844 inscribed at the gable of the gatehouse. Today the estate is run according to ecological principles. The quiet and freedom offered by the natural setting are what give Le Marteret its particular charm and appeal. Take the time to walk around the 200-year-old pines. Enjoy the wind blowing through the trees and listen to the birds. Touch the horses as they approach you. Three horses of the robust and calm breed Merens are available for horseback riding, with guidance if desired. We also offer horseback riding lessons. Some 25 km of riding and hiking trails can be accessed directly from the grounds. The nearest village Saint-Jean-Poutge is 2 km away. In 15 km distance at the cathedral in Auch the pilgrims on the Jacobs trail rest on their passage to Santiago de Compostela.

In the enchanting atmosphere of this "total work of art" we can find inner peace, as well as gaining new insights and release from established habits. The beauty of this place lends wings not only to our senses but to our thoughts as well.

Leonardo da Vinci once wrote: "The insight which did not flush the senses will not produce any but a harmful truth". If we want to understand and preserve the "miracle" of creation, understanding it is not enough ... Human beings need the experience in special places that make them aware of this - somewhere where they can feel it! That is why Le Marteret was created. Dostoyevsky's statement that "beauty will save the world" is palpable here at Le Marteret, with a sense of "lightness" to every detail.

To develop completely new concepts and approaches, to discuss radically new ideas and shape future perspectives, leading to a change of consciousness - these are tasks that people seldom dare to undertake under normal circumstances. Without doubt, liberating individuals from all constraints of everyday life would bring great relief, thereby creating an inspiring environment removed from time and space. Chateau Marteret can be used for private events. On request, the estate can be made available for conferences, seminars, family celebrations, company jubilees and other similar event.
